1. Checking in.
2. Discussion on the poem
3. Hand out poetry books
4. Analyse "The Highwayman"

- Read once, and offer an opinion.
- Read twice, and go through it carefully

Look up hard words
Summarize each stanza
Identify the rhyme scheme
Locate repeating images, and those that stand out
Locate a "turning point"
Define the tone
Offer a theme

- Read a third time, and engage in the activity
