Hello! Here's what we're up to:

English 10

1. Checking in.
2. Time for your Independent Novel Study. Assignment due on May 2nd, where a final discussion will follow your completion of the novel.
3. Handing out books
4. Next class, read "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening."

English 9

1. Checking in.
2. Discussion and freewrite on "The Highwayman."
3. Time for your Independent Novel Study.
4. Looking ahead:

- Next class, Monday, we'll take a look at another poem.
- Wednesday (May 2), we'll have a quiz. This one will be different. 8 questions, a mixture of multiple choice and short answer on all four texts we've looked at so far. Any term on the Lit Devices sheet is fair game.
- Wednesday (May 2), your Independent novel study assignment are due. Bring your completed book to class, and you'll hand those in, and participate in a larger discussion. (No need to prepare anything for the discussions).
- The week after, tentatively Thursday, May 10th, we'll have an in-class write. This will be a compare and contrast essay on two of the four texts we've looked at. The lesson before will be to review synthesis structure and the texts themselves.
