2. Fiction Literary Terms
- Allusion - a reference to something outside the text, usually a metaphor.
- Setting - the time and place of a story, affects the atmosphere.
- Plot structure:
- Conflicts: Character vs
Character
Self
Environment
Society
Other?
3. Discussion ("There Will Come Soft Rains")
- What did you think of the story?
- How is our current world similar and different to the world this house was built for?
- Do you think the story is a fair prediction? (The shadows on the wall)
- Identify three possible themes.
- What question do you have about that world, which you may not be able to answer?
4. Assignment for next class, and time to work on it.
