Hello! Here's what we're up to today:

1. Checking in
2. Tips on how to give a speech, with an example from me. And here's an inspirational speech!

3. Time to work on A4
4. Time to prepare for novel study. Please come prepared with:

- A summary of half the novel
- A few themes so far
- Your opinion of the novel so far
- Two questions for discussion with your group

5. Time for oratoricals! I'll be coming around to check on your progress, and by next class you should be halfway through "f"

a. Brainstorm topics. Ask yourself: What do I know, and what do I want people to know?
b. Choose a topic.
c. Brainstorm support for the topic
d. Do research - find out not only evidence that supports your point, but that disagrees with your point (confirmation bias is a real thing!)
e. Create an outline
f. Write a first draft
g. Say it out loud, and make changes
h. Say it to someone else, and ask for feedback.
i. Create a final draft, and time ita
j. Prepare cue cards
k. Rehearse, and time it.
l. Present your oratorical!
