Day 2 Notes: September 13, 2017

Hello! Here's what we're up to today:

English 11

a. Checking in.
b. Please note that I've added a "Course Objectives" section to the outline for the course.
c. Let's take a look at the unit outline and Project 1 details.
d. Poetry! How do we feel about it?

f. How to Read a Poem. Simplified:

1. Read through the poem once without worrying about "getting it." Offer an opinion.
2. Define hard words, and note any details that jump out at you: who the narrator is, any repetition, strong images, what the structure is.
3. Reread the poem (aloud is good), and offer a new opinion. What do you see now that you didn't before?
4. Double-check your task, and write your first thoughts.
5. Reread a third time, and note as many details relevant to your task as you can
